Kultur & Stress: Pure Radio II

According to Karl Poppers philosophy of science, a theory can be called scientific if it is falsifiable, i.e. if a particular theory is false, this can be shown by observation. So what does this mean for radio theory? In order for radio theory to be scientific, it should be possible to construct a situation where this theory could be proven false. Mind you, this does not mean the theory is false, just that if it can be falsified, it is scientific. This playlist explores the situation where a show is aired into the void, either because there’s nobody left (war of the worlds), because the source is not acknowledged (example #22), codified (number station), indistinguishable from operational sounds (intermission) or interference, implausible (niagara falls) or not perceeived as music (moto) etc. This is the second instalment of an exploration of pure radio series, the first one was aired on 4 March 2011.

Kultur & Stress on openBroadcast, Switzerlands first “user generated” radio, broadcasting what the Community produces on the online platform.
